Ginger Pear Bourbon Cocktail

Ginger Pear Bourbon Cocktail

Every year I wait for peak pear season so I can eat them all day, in every way. They are still going strong around here as sweet as can be in late November, and so I’ve started to even drink them. This Ginger Pear Bourbon Cocktail is a delicious one for the late fall season. Zingy ginger, sweet pear, and warming bourbon all in one neat glass. It can also be turned into a mocktail if preferred!

The flavor comes largely from the simple syrup here, and it is very easy to make. It does require one small extra step that makes a world of difference. Simmering the pear and ginger together creates a beautiful flavor combination, however heating ginger in a liquid like this often removes the spiciness. So, adding a small amount of fresh ginger to the completed syrup will add that extra punch back in for a perfectly balance beverage.

If you wanted to make this a mocktail, you can remove the bourbon and replace it with a little extra lemon juice and additional soda water. All in all, this Ginger Pear Bourbon Cocktail is a great treat for these cooling late fall nights, the festivities of Thanksgiving, and other holidays ahead. It can also easily be batched to serve beverages to a crowd!
