Have you ever eaten a salad somewhere and thought, “what is in this and why does it taste so good?!” Well, I have. Luckily, I think I figured it out. This citrus salad with kumquat vinaigrette is light, refreshing, and so, so good.
Side Dish
No-Knead Dutch Oven Bread
Bread has sort of scared me. I mean, I love bread, but making it always seemed like such a hassle. So much planning and waiting…. But what I never really thought about, was that all that waiting actually means that it isn’t THAT much work to make a wonderful loaf of bread. It just means you need to be alert enough to respond to a timer going off! This no-knead dutch oven bread has the added bonus of not needing to be kneaded (hehe) so it’s a great place to start is you’re a little hesitant about bread making as well.
Rosemary Roasted Purple Potatoes
Roasted veggies and roasted potatoes are nothing new. They’re a side dish I usually whip up at the last minute because I’m bound to have something roastable, and some sort of herb laying around. But with that, we can never let ourselves over estimate the simple, right? Sometimes simple is best, good, and even great. And these rosemary roasted purple potatoes are fantastic.
Smoked Gouda and Dill Scones
Ahhhhhhh scones. I love sweet scones, I love savory scones, I love tea with my scones, I love coffee with my scones. Can you tell I enjoy scones? These smoked gouda and dill scones were inspired by a certain someone whose favorite flavors are gouda and dill. And so, why not mix the two together and bake something tasty!?
Crepe Week: Foolproof Crepes
Happy Crepe Week!
There is so much to do/celebrate/eat this week, it’s hard to know what to make! Lunar New Year, Super Bowl, and the upcoming Valentine’s Day… But my favorite day lands smack dab in the middle of them all – February 2: La Chandeleur! This special French day translates directly as Candlemas, but is colloquially referred to as crepe day. A real, official day devoted to eating your weight in crepes! (Ok, maybe not quite that much, but I’ll take any excuse to eat crepe after crepe). And so, it must begin with some foolproof crepes.
